Spa Industry Sponsors Charity Triathlon in June

Athletes from all levels of North American spas will gather in June in Victoria, Canada, to compete as individuals or teams in the Subaru Ironman Victoria triathlon. The purpose (in addition to competing) is to raise money for the Éminence Kids Foundation. Some of the best-known male and female spa movers and shakers will participate.

This Year’s Triathlon

As competitors and fans are aware, triathlons are a severe test of athletes’ versatility and conditioning. The competition consists of a 1,900-meter swimming race, a 90-kilometer bicycle race, and, a marathon-like, 21.1 kilometer run.

Like the Boston and New York Marathon, the primary challenge for most participants, is in finishing, not winning, the multi-faceted competition. Only the most fit athletes have chances of winning a triathlon.

The Spas Pushing Limits group, allows spa employees to enter as relay teams or individual competitors, with primary goal of raising dollars for the Éminence Kids Foundation. While normally in competition with each other, the spa industry competitors are uniting for the benefit of charity fundraising for a great cause.

Some of the noteworthy spas with contestants from their management and staff include Spatec, Spa of the Rockies at Glenwood Hot Springs (CO), Spa Solage (CA), Yonka Paris, Live Love Spa, and Mandara Spas. Julie Keller Callaghan, American Spa’s publisher and editor-in-chief will be at this event reporting live to those who cannot attend.

After this demanding race, competitors will head to Vancouver, considered by some to be the most beautiful city in North America, for an up-close tour of the city. This trip will also include a visit to Éminence headquarters.

Éminence Kids Foundation

Éminence Organic Skin Care began their foundation with the lofty goal of benefiting sick children and their families by making organic meals available to needy children’s families and their ill children. After only three years after launching their organization Éminence Organic Skin Care has served over 38,000 organic meals.

Those who want to get involved with this important charity can do so with at least three options.

  • You can donate funds.

  • You can volunteer to help with our mission. Here are a few suggested ways to help.

    • Volunteer at a local long-term care facility that serves children and their families.

    • Volunteer at a children’s cancer support group.

    • Volunteer to help an organic farm willing to donate some organic produce to support ill children.

    • You could join the Éminence Kids Foundation to receive news of valuable and exciting milestones reached by Éminence Kids.

  • Your spa could host an event to raise money for the Éminence Kids Foundation. You will get help from the team at Éminence Kids Foundation to make your event a ringing success.

Éminence Kids Foundation and a united spa grueling triathlon seem to have no relationship to each other. However, if you are fit (not a “couch potato”) and work for a spa, you may want to take note of the Subaru Ironman Victoria, Canada, Triathlon in June to raise funds for the outstanding philanthropic organization, Éminence Kids Foundation. Launched by Éminence Organic Skin Care, three years ago to provide organic meals to sick children and their families.

The Éminence Kids Foundation has now provided over 38,000 organic meals to those in need. North American spas are uniting in this vital fundraising event to provide cooperation, competitors, and to ensure the race is a success.
